The Town of Jupiter has scheduled a ribbon cutting for Heights of Jupiter Park at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 15215 East Revelle Circle. The playground has been closed since July 6, when it became the first of three in town to be fenced off for summer renovation. The Town expects it to reopen in early October. In a five-year program, Jupiter's smallest neighborhood park is among the first sites due to be finished. The program's flagship pieces are moving out to 2027 and beyond.
That timing affects how much the upgrade matters on an ordinary weekday afternoon. Until Indian Creek's splash pad arrives, which is planned for 2027, the newest play space in this part of Jupiter is a short walk away for people in The Heights.
Heights of Jupiter Park covers three acres. The Town's facility listing shows a playground, a jogging trail, sand volleyball, two basketball courts, picnic shelters and parking. It also shows no restrooms, which matters to anyone planning more than an hour there with small children.
The Palm Beach Post reported that the renovation brings new shade structures, play equipment designed for children of different abilities, and artificial turf. The surface change is a big one. A design brief the Town issued in October 2024 called for multicolored artificial turf and shade from trees or structures as part of the standard package for these rebuilds.
The playground equipment isn't the only work. On July 7, the Town Council approved work orders totaling $375,229 covering chain-link fencing, landscaping, irrigation and a chilled-water fountain at the Heights, at Abacoa Community Park and at the Jupiter Community Center. The Town hasn't said how much of that total went to the Heights alone. For a park without restrooms, a chilled fountain is the addition most likely to change how long a family stays.
The Town hasn't published the equipment maker or a theme for the new Heights playground. The 2024 design document mentions a preferred playground vendor without naming it. Seeing what was installed means walking over after October 9.
The Heights has been in line for a while. The October 2024 work order grouped it with Daily Park and Miracle Moments Park for design, at $117,890.82 for all three sites together. That figure paid for design, not construction. Two years later, the Heights is due to reopen and Daily Park is still under construction. The Town's fall newsletter says Daily Park's renovation is "progressing, and should be completed in the months ahead."
The full program is larger. The Palm Beach Post describes a $6.8 million project the Town Council approved in 2025 to improve 11 playground sites over five years, because several of Jupiter's playgrounds are more than 20 years old. WPTV's May 2025 report listed 12 distinct park locations, so the count depends on which source you read. Here is that 2025 rollout schedule alongside the status the Town reported in its October 2026 newsletter.
Park | Year on WPTV's May 2025 schedule | Status as of the Town's October 2026 update |
|---|---|---|
Heights of Jupiter Park | 2026 | Reopening in early October; ribbon cutting Oct. 9 |
Abacoa Community Park | 2026 | Reopening in early October |
Jupiter Community Center | 2026 | Reopening in early October |
Daily Park | 2026 | Under way; completion "in the months ahead" |
Indian Creek Park, Phase 2 | 2026 | Restroom wrapping up; splash pad and parking planned for 2027 |
FIND, Jupiter Village | 2027 | Not addressed in the update |
Old Town Hall, Lighthouse | 2028 | Not addressed in the update |

Of the 2026 group, the Heights and the two other playgrounds expected back in early October are on track for the year the schedule gave them. Indian Creek's second phase has moved.
Indian Creek Park, off Central Boulevard, is meant to be the program's centerpiece. The Town plans to build a spray ground there and designate it as Jupiter's flagship playground. The Town's own FAQ set out the order: a playground replacement as Phase 1 in 2025, then a splash pad and new restroom as Phase 2 in 2026.
The fall newsletter now describes that second phase differently:
Construction is wrapping upon a new restroom facility at Indian Creek Park. Future enhancements planned for the park include a splash pad and additional parking, further improving the experience for residents and visitors in 2027.
So the restroom is on time and the water feature is planned for next year. The Town hasn't given a reason. The same newsletter does flag a separate funding question. It says more than $20 million in capital projects, including park and facility renovations and athletic-field repairs, have been identified for a possible pause on spending and contracts if Amendment 3 passes. It also says those projects are not canceled and their timelines would be revisited. The newsletter doesn't list which parks are in that group, so nothing published ties the splash pad's 2027 date to the possible pause.
Jupiter Community Park's athletic fields are at an earlier stage still. WFLX reported in September that the Town's plan would put new grass on two fields in 2027 at a cost of $1.26 million, with two other fields proposed for artificial turf in 2029 and 2030. Those are proposals in a planning discussion, not contracts. Athletic-field repairs are also one of the categories the Town named in its possible capital pause.
That leaves The Heights in an unusual spot. The big-ticket items people tend to associate with Jupiter's park spending, like a flagship splash pad and resurfaced ballfields, are planned for 2027 or later and partly depend on decisions that haven't been made. The renovation that's almost finished is at the three-acre park on Revelle Circle.
The ribbon cutting kicks off a busy month of Town events. All of these come from the Town's October 2026 to January 2027 recreation guide and event notices:
The holiday events follow. The Tree Lighting is set for Friday, December 4, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the Town Green at the Jupiter Municipal Campus. Snow Place Like Jupiter returns to Abacoa Community Park on Saturday, December 12, from 3 to 6 p.m. If Abacoa is part of your weekly routine, our look at the weeknight rhythm of Downtown Abacoa covers that side of the calendar.
The Town's newsletter says the three playgrounds are "expected to re-open in early October." The only firm date published for the Heights is the October 9 ribbon cutting. Check jupiter.fl.us/Recreation for current park hours before planning a visit around an earlier opening. Plan around the lack of restrooms at the Heights. The chilled-water fountain is the new convenience, and the new public restroom in the program is the one being finished at Indian Creek Park.
